❓ Issue/Question
- How to check the tag restrictions of the user?
- What to do when the user cannot see media because of the tag restrictions?
- How do I check the tag restrictions on a user's account?
👌 Resolution/Answer
- Go to
Configure>Users - Search for the user
- Click
Edit

- Review two fields:
-
Tag access- an allowlist. If populated, the user can only see media with at least one of these tags.- How does the "Tag Access" field in a user's settings work?
- If broader access is needed, the platform admin can add tag(s) to the field or clear it entirely if they see fit.
-
Exclude tags- a denylist. If populated, the user cannot see media tagged with any of these tags.- How does the "Exclude Tags" field in a user's settings work?
- If access should be granted, the platform admin can remove the relevant tag(s) from the exclude list if they see fit.
-
Note: Leaving the
Tag accessandExclude tagswill result in the user having access to all media
-
If the user is assigned to an external group, the tags inherited from the group will also be visible here. If no tags appear, it means the user has access to all media, or they're assigned to a external group with Advanced Distribution Rules assigned.
