👌 Resolution/Answer

  • Obtain Getty event IDs
    • Contact your Getty Images representative and request the MEID(s) for your upcoming event(s). Each event has its own unique MEID. Ideally, request the full season's MEIDs in advance and flag any last-minute additions (e.g. press conferences, non-match shoots) as early as possible.
      • ⚠️ Note: The MEID does not appear publicly on Getty's licensing site — it must be provided directly by your Getty contact.
  • Configure the collection
    • Navigate to the target collection
    • Click the … (3 dots), select Edit and go to the Advanced Settings section
    • In either the External ID or Raw Name field, enter: gettymeid_[MEID]
      • Example: gettymeid_87654321
      • Reminder:  Both fields work identically for Getty routing. If External ID is already used for another integration (e.g., Opta), use Raw Name for the Getty ID instead.
    • Save the settings
      • ⚠️ Note: Configure MEIDs at least 24–48 hours before the event to ensure routing is active when Getty begins delivery.
  • Share FTP credentials with Getty
    • Provide Getty with your ScorePlay FTP credentials (available from your CSM). Getty does not need keywords, special file formatting, or collection codes — only the FTP endpoint and the MEIDs.
  • Test before the event
    • Before match day, ask your Getty contact to transmit a test photo. Confirm it appears automatically in the correct collection. If it lands in Live Mode instead, the MEID is missing or misconfigured — recheck Step 2 and confirm Getty has the correct MEID on their end.

 

🔖 Notes 

  • ScorePlay's routing engine scans IPTC metadata on every file uploaded to the FTP folder. For Getty, it reads the MEID from the Original Transmission Reference / Job Identifier field, where Getty writes it as a plain number — 12345678. That number is matched against your collection's External ID or Raw Name, where it must be stored with the prefix — gettymeid_12345678. The prefix goes on the collection only, never in the photo. If no match is found, the asset falls back to Live Mode — and no error is shown anywhere, so a collection saved without the prefix looks exactly like a normal delivery that had no matching event.
  • Routed media is immediately visible to all users with collection access — there is no review buffer
  • If the collection is synced from a data provider, put the Getty ID in Raw Name — replacing a data-synced External ID breaks that collection's link to the provider.
