โ Issue/Question
- When moving assets to another collection, I search for it by name but so many collections come up with the same title that I can't tell which one is the right one
- I searched for "MD1" to move some media, but the specific sub-collection I need doesn't show up in the results at all, even after scrolling to the bottom
- We have many collections with the same name across different competitions, for example "Barcelona" appears in UCL, UYL, and UWCL, how do I know which one I'm actually selecting when moving assets?
- I find it frustrating to move or include a new collection to certain parent collections. I am trying to make a new Post Season collection that is under 2026, and so when I search 2026, it never gives me the right one, and I have to scroll and scroll

๐ Resolution/Answer
-
Check the path of each result
- Search for the destination collection
- Look at the path shown under each result, e.g.
Parent collection>Sub-collection 1>Sub-collection 2 - Select the result whose path matches your destination

-
Temporarily rename the destination collection
- Rename the destination to something unique, e.g.
Move-Here - Search for the new name and select it
- Move your assets or collections
- Rename the collection back to its original name
- Rename the destination to something unique, e.g.
-
Create the sub-collection from its parent
- If you're creating a new collection, open the parent collection
- Click the
โฆ(3 dots) at the top right and selectCreate Sub-collection
ย
๐ฅ Cause
- When several collections share the same name, the search results when moving assets can be hard to tell apart, or in some cases the specific collection you're looking for might not appear in the results at all if there are too many matches for that keyword
- The results list the most recent collections first, so a parent collection with an older date can end up at the bottom of the list, below its own sub-collections
