❓ Issue/Question

  • What is Taxonomy in ScorePlay?

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • Taxonomy refers to the structure of tags within your platform. This structure directly impacts searchability and content classification across your entire media library. A well-defined taxonomy is crucial as it lays the foundation for an organized and efficient ScorePlay platform.

  • ScorePlay uses several types of tags, some automatic and others manual:
    • Automatic Tags (No Action Required)
      • Athletes - Automatically identified through AI recognition
      • Sponsors - Automatically detected once you add sponsors in the External Groups section
      • Calendar Metadata - Automatically ingested and managed by the system
      • Format Metadata - Automatically associated with asset types (photo, video, etc.)
    • Manual Tags
      • Custom Tags - Create and assign your own tags to collections and media as needed

  • Why Taxonomy Matters?
    • Find content faster - Search and filter media with precision
    • Organize efficiently - Keep your library structured as it grows
    • Scale effectively - Maintain organization even with thousands of assets
    • Collaborate better - Ensure your team uses consistent terminology
    • Deliver content quickly - Locate the right media when you need it most
