Can I hide the "End Stream" button for certain accounts?

❓ Issue/Question

• The End stream button is available to any account that can reach the Live section, including external users

• I want to stop certain accounts from being able to end a stream while still letting them watch it

👌 Resolution/Answer

• There is no permission that hides the End Stream button on its own — it comes with access to the Live section
• Give viewing access through the Media Library instead
  • The button appears only in the Live section, not in the Media Library
  • A live stream is visible in the Media Library as well, so a user can watch it there without ever seeing the button
• Remove the account type's access to the Live section
  • Go to Configure → Users → Account Type and open the account type concerned 
  • Remove access to the Live section page while keeping the Can view stream enabled

• Enable the permissions needed to watch the stream from the Media Library
  • Media Library → Can view page 
  • Media Library → Can view live media

🔖 Notes 

• As a general practice, external users should not be given access to the Live section — give them the streams through the Media Library instead 
• If the user still cannot see the stream after this, check tag restrictions and any external group tag access rules, since those apply on top of the account type
• User is not able to access the stream despite the permissions are enabled
