- FTP to collection
❓ Issue/Question
- How can I set up automatic publishing of FTP media to a collection?
- What are the methods to publish FTP media automatically into a collection?
👌 Resolution/Answer
ScorePlay supports two routing methods. Use the one that matches your workflow:
| Method | When to use |
|---|---|
Keyword-based routing (sp_ / opta_) |
Standard FTP uploads, where photographers can embed IPTC keywords |
Getty metadata routing (gettymeid_) |
Getty Images FTP deliveries using automatic IPTC metadata |

Method 2 — Getty Images Metadata Routing (gettymeid_)

🔖 Notes
- ScorePlay's routing engine scans IPTC metadata on every file uploaded to the FTP folder. For keyword routing, it looks for
sp_oropta_prefixes in the keywords field. For Getty, it reads the MEID (Original Transmission Reference / Job Identifier) field. When a match is found against a collection's External ID or Raw Name, the asset is automatically moved to that collection. If no match is found, the asset falls back to Live Mode. - Routed media is immediately visible to all users with collection access — there is no review buffer
