❓ Issue/Question

  • A media that shouldn't be shared externally (e.g. for rights reasons) is visible on the portal, and the portal owner has no option to remove or hide it directly from the portal view. How do you take a specific media off a portal?

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • Portals use a tag-based restriction: the portal is configured with a restriction tag, and any media carrying that tag is automatically excluded from the portal.
  • You can use an internal tag to identify all the media that should remain internal and avoid it being shared. Once the portal is set to restrict that tag, simply add the internal tag to any media you want kept off the portal. Tagged media will no longer be displayed.

🔖 Notes

  • The restriction tag is set per portal and is chosen/configurable when the portal is set up — it isn't a fixed system value. So the first step is to check which tag your portal uses as its restriction (in the portal's settings), then apply that tag to any media you want hidden. If you're unsure which tag your portal is configured with, ask Support to confirm.
