Uploading a photo that is already in the collection creates a duplicate

❓ Issue/Question

• I asked what would happen if I uploaded photo assets into a collection that already contained them; I was told the photos would be excluded because already present, but in fact the photos remain doubled, they are not recognised as duplicates (the photos are perfectly identical: same file, size, metadata, general info)
• Does ScorePlay skip adding a file I upload by mistake a second time?

👌 Resolution/Answer

• Check whether the two files are identical
  • When duplicate detection is enabled on your platform, an identical file is detected and not added again, even if it was renamed before the second upload
  • A file that was re-exported, resized, edited or re-saved is a different file and is added as a new media

• If an identical file was still added twice
  • Do not delete either media
