How to create new user FTP profiles?

In order for you to access the FTP section on your platform, the Live > Can view page and Can view FTP permissions should be enabled on your account.

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • Go to Live and then navigate to Media from FTP.

  • Click on Camera FTP
    • If you don't see this feature, please contact the ScorePlay Support team via Live Chat
  • A window will appear with two sections: Connection details and Photographers.

  • In the Connection details section, there is a toggle that allows you to switch between USA and EU servers. Changing this will update the Host and Host (IP-only cameras) fields. You can select either option, but we recommend choosing the one closest to your region.

  • In the Photographers section, click the + New FTP user button. A new window will open where you can enter a username of your choice. A password will be generated automatically, which you can update at any time using the Generate password button.

  • Once you are done, click Create. This will create the new FTP user with its own login credentials.

  • You can then share the username, password, and the connection details from the Connection details section directly with your photographer.

 

🔖 Notes

  • ⚠️ The old FTP servers (ftp.media.scoreplay.io for the US, eu-ftp.scoreplay.io for the EU) will be decommissioned on September 1, 2026. If you were previously using those addresses, update your camera or FTP client to the new host before that date to avoid any interruption.
  • Each FTP user automatically gets their own folder and tag assigned. Photographers can upload directly to the root of the FTP server; there is no need to configure a specific path. Files will be placed in the correct photographer folder and tagged automatically.
  • If you need to create a sub-path for a specific photographer, go to Upload > Create FTP Path and share the path along with the credentials.
  • The password cannot be changed or viewed again, so if the user needs a “password reset", it will be necessary to delete the FTP user and create a new one.
  • The username is automatically prefixed with your platform's subdomain (e.g., if you type xav, the actual login becomes onprem_xav). Make sure to share the full username as it appears in the list.
  • Use the host address over raw IP when possible. Note that SFTP and FTPS are not supported, plain FTP in passive mode only.
