❓ Issue/Question
- How do I structure my workspace in ScorePlay?
- What are the collection structures I can use on ScorePlay?
👌 Resolution/Answer
1. Using a Collection structure
Your collection structure depends on your organization type (e.g., Club, League), your preferred ways of working, and also how the collections are synced on ScorePlay (e.g., manually created, synced from your data).
There are 2 collection structures you can use in ScorePlay. To know more about which collection structure works best for your organization, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
-
Flat Model (Horizontal)
- The flat/horizontal model is the classic way of using ScorePlay. It relies on tags within collections to navigate and search through media. Content is typically displayed with the most recent uploads at the top and older items further down
-
Pros
- Simple to set up and maintain — requires no additional structure
- Ideal for in-season workflows when quick access to the latest content matters most
- Fast and flexible for day-to-day publishing or matchday operations
-
Cons
- Harder for new users to know where to look or how to search effectively
- Finding older or archived content can take more time
- Often leads to inconsistent tagging practices across different teams or projects

Layered Structure (vertical)
- The layered model is a newer approach to organizing your archive. Collections are structured by season or category, creating a clearer funnel for content organization and discovery

-
Pros
- Enables faster access to archived content by browsing through logical categories
- Makes it easier to standardise and replicate tags across collections
- Scales better for large organisations — the media library and collections pages remain cleaner and easier to navigate
-
Cons
- Requires more setup time upfront to design the hierarchy
- Can introduce an extra layer of navigation when searching for specific content
