❓ Issue/Question
- There are still many files that have not had transcriptions generated. Not sure what the issue is?
- Why do some media have auto-generated transcripts while others don’t?
- I need the spanish SRT file that was not generated on the media.
👌 Resolution/Answer
- Upload method could affect the transcript generation:
- Files uploaded via MASV upload links or migrated (Archive) media will not auto-trigger transcript generation.
- Large files can also cause issues for auto transcript generation (over 1,5GB).
- The media must be uploaded via the upload tab on web browser for auto transcript generation.
- The transcript will be generated using only the first audio track of the file, if it contains multiple.
- Potential workarounds:
- Download the 720p proxy of the video and re-upload it - it'll reduce the size of the video and regenerates the transcript
- Clip the whole video to 720p and publish the clipped video to the media library - this may also generate the complete transcript
