❓ Issue/Question
- What is the difference between Push and Pull for live ingest?

- What is Pull ingest and how does it work?
👌 Resolution/Answer
-
Push Ingest
- With Push ingest, your encoder or broadcaster sends the live feed directly to a receiver configured in ScorePlay. ScorePlay acts as the listener, and it waits for the signal to arrive.
-
How does it work?
- Configure your encoder or broadcaster to stream to the receiver set up in ScorePlay.
- As long as your encoder is sending a signal, ScorePlay records the stream during the scheduled time.
- Once the encoder stops, the stream ends, and a VOD (video-on-demand) is automatically published to your media library.
-
Pull Ingest
- With Pull ingest, ScorePlay reaches out and pulls the live feed from a media partner or external broadcasting server. ScorePlay acts as the caller, and it initiates the connection at the scheduled time.
-
How does it work?
- Your media partner sets up a source feed and shares the connection details (e.g., SRT/RTMP link, IP address, and password) with you ahead of the event.
- You enter this information into ScorePlay when scheduling the live ingest.
- At the scheduled start time, ScorePlay initiates the pull request and begins recording.
- Once the stream ends, a VOD is automatically published to your media library.
