💻 Environment/Context
- FTP
- Slow upload
- APAC
- NZ
- Australia
❓ Issue/Question
- Hi, I have been using the live function to send in images, which works well, but is there an address that works for New Zealand/Australia? I’ve been using the Europe one, which has been very slow here.
- Which FTP server should I use when uploading files via FTP from NZ/Australia/APAC region?
👌 Resolution/Answer
- ScorePlay currently provides two FTP server regions:
- For Europe: live-ftp-eu.scoreplay.io or 52.58.253.158
- For NA: live-ftp-us.scoreplay.io or 44.209.213.129
- If you are based in New Zealand, Australia, or the Asia-Pacific region and experiencing slow uploads on the EU server, switch to the NA server. it is geographically closer and should provide faster upload speeds.
- To update your FTP server on your camera:
- Access your camera's FTP/network settings
- Replace the current Host/Server field with:
live-ftp-us.scoreplay.io(or IP44.209.213.129) - Keep all other credentials (port, username, password) the same
- Test an upload to confirm the connection works
🥚 Cause
- FTP upload speed is affected by the physical distance between the user and the server. Connecting from New Zealand or Australia to a European server introduces high latency and slower transfer speeds. Using the NA server reduces that distance and improves performance.
🔖 Notes
- Both FTP servers (EU and NA) are accessible from anywhere — there is no geographic restriction on which server you can use
