How to enable tags to be visible on photo thumbnails?

In order for you to manage the spotlight tags, the Taxonomy > Can view page and Can edit tags permissions should be enabled on your account.

❓ Issue/Question

  • I would like all users who log in and go to the collections to see the media with the tags on by default, and that they do not have to choose to display the tag themselves.
  • Users see a Spotlight tags row in the media card filter and in the Display options menu, but the row stays empty (—). They look for a way to mark an individual tag as "spotlight" and cannot find one.

 

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • Make the tag group eligible
    • Go to Configure → Taxonomy
    • Open the tag group holding the tags you want on the card
    • Edit the tag group and enable its display on thumbnails + click Update

  • Every tag inside that group is now eligible to appear as a spotlight tag
  • Enable the display option to make it appear on every media card
    • Open the Media Library in Card view
    • Open Display options
    • Click the eye icon next to Spotlight tags so it is active.
