A tag appears as a credit but was never added to the Credit tag group

In order for you to edit the Taxonomy, the Taxonomy > Can edit tags permission should be enabled on your account.

❓ Issue/Question

  • In player's app views, the credit says "players era" instead of the photographer credit I don't have players era itself in my credit taxonomy at all.
  • A tag value appears in a tag group even though it was never added to that group — for example a value shown as the photo credit on media in the player app, while the Credit tag group in the Taxonomy does not contain it. The customer cannot find where the value comes from.

 

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • The fix is to force the tag group to refresh:
    • Go to Configure → Taxonomy & labels and open the Credit tag group.
    • Add the unexpected tag to the group, click Update and refresh the page.
    • Reopen the Credit tag group and remove the newly added tag from the group again and click Update.
    • Reload the page and check the media. The credit section should have been updated correctly.

 

🥚 Cause

  • This is a taxonomy display issue, not an actual tagging or group-assignment issue. The tag may be incorrectly assigned and the UI is simply displaying it incorrectly.
