❓ Issue/Question
- How do we generate an app code that lets a player log in to the ScorePlay mobile app directly, without scanning a QR code or opening a deep invite link?
- Is there ways of accessing a table of all our athletes and their access codes?
👌 Resolution/Answer
-
Build the App code
- Add
Pin front of the player's ScorePlay ID:P{player_id} - Example: if the player's ID is
116319, the App code isP116319
- Add
-
Get one player's ID
- Open the player's profile in ScorePlay
- Copy the number at the end of the URL
-
Get the IDs of all your players at once
- Request the full list of players with the ScorePlay API
- Send the request from an API tool such as Postman, not from your browser's address bar. The request needs your API key in the
X-ScorePlay-Api-Keyheader, which a browser can't add - Export the IDs to a spreadsheet and add a column with the formula
="P"&A2(column A holds the IDs) to build every App code at once
-
Share the code with the player
- The player enters it on the ScorePlay app's login screen to sign in. No QR code or link needed
🔖 Notes
- App codes don't need any encoding, so they're the easiest mobile app login to generate at scale
