โ Issue/Question
- How does the AI recognition process work?
- How does AI recognize athletes and sponsors?
- How does AI identify and tag media?
ย
๐ Resolution/Answer
-
When AI tagging starts
- AI processing starts as soon as files are uploaded, with every upload method: web, FTP, S3, remote sync and archive migrations
- Files are processed one by one, so tagging starts while the upload is still running. Most files are already processed when the upload ends
- Photos are analyzed in full: faces, text and logos
- Videos are analyzed for the first 2 minutes. The AI picks the clearest frames by detecting scene changes and movement
-
What happens on each upload
- Face detection: faces in the media are found and prepared for recognition
- Face matching: detected faces are compared with athlete profiles
- Text detection: visible text, like athlete or sponsor names, is matched with existing profiles
-
How athletes are recognized
- Facial recognition: faces are compared with the athlete profiles on your platform
- Text recognition (OCR): jersey names, graphics and overlays are matched with your athletes. When the text matches a profile, the athlete is tagged
- You can turn face and text recognition on or off for each athlete
-
How sponsors are recognized
- Logo detection: sponsor logos on jerseys, banners, boards and equipment are compared with your sponsor profiles
- Logo detection keeps improving as the AI models are updated, but a logo can be missed or misidentified. If you notice an issue, reach out to your CSM or the ScorePlay Support team via the Live Chat
- Text recognition (OCR): sponsor names on boards, overlays and broadcast graphics are matched with your sponsors
- Logo detection: sponsor logos on jerseys, banners, boards and equipment are compared with your sponsor profiles
