โ Issue/Question
- Can you tell me if the users in the X group have proper access to the media they have rights to?
- How can I check if a user has access to a specific media or collection?
- There is a user who says that the system is not updating for them and that they haven't seen new photos
- How to check what account types have access to the media?
ย
๐ Resolution/Answer
-
Check a sample media in the collection
- Open the collection and click any media
- Check its
Accesssettings - Collections are usually set up the same way for all their media. If the sample media has the expected account type, the rest of the collection most likely has the same access
- If it doesn't, update the access in bulk

-
Test it with a test account
- Create a test user with an email alias, for example
your.email+test@domain.com, and give it the account type you want to check - Log in with the test user to see exactly what that account type sees
- Create a test user with an email alias, for example

๐ Notes
- Access to a collection depends on its access settings. If you can view the media in a collection, you can see the collection too
- You can always see the media you upload yourself, even if it isn't available to your account type. Two users with the same account type and tag access can see different media for this reason
- Media uploaded through an upload link isn't linked to the uploader's account, so it only appears to them if its access settings include their account type
- Collection is visible to one user but missing for another with the same accessย
