Video is missing audio transcript

❓ Issue/Question

• There are still many files that have not had transcriptions generated. Not sure what the issue is?
• Why do some media have auto-generated transcripts while others don’t?
• I need the Spanish SRT file that was not generated on the media
• I can't see the transcript of a video, but my colleagues or the Support team can see it

👌 Resolution/Answer

• If the transcript is still missing 30 minutes after upload, reach out to the ScorePlay support team via the Live Chat
• If other users can see the transcript but you can't, open the media in an incognito or private window. If the transcript shows there, clear your browser cache (not the cookies) and reload the media

• Workaround 1: Re-upload the 720p proxy
  • Download the 720p proxy of the video and upload it again
  • The smaller file generates the transcript again
• Workaround 2: Clip the whole video
  • Clip the whole video in 720p and publish the clip to the media library
  • This can also generate the complete transcript

🥚 Cause

• The upload method can affect transcript generation
  • Files uploaded via MASV upload links, or migrated (archive) media, don’t trigger transcript generation automatically

🔖 Notes

• Upload the media from the Upload tab in a web browser for the transcript to generate automatically
• If the file has several audio tracks, the transcript uses only the first one
• Is it possible to activate the text transcription on live streams?
